Replacement Leaf Springs For 2017 Keystone Bullet Premier Travel Trailer

Question:

I broke a leaf spring on a Dexter 3 5 8 2 6 4 axle. This is a 3500 lb axle mounted under a 2017 29rkpr bullet Premier RV. Could you recommend a replacement axle? What Ive seen in the online listings is a four spring assembly. Whats on there now is a single spring. Thank you

Since you mentioned that you broke a leaf spring and not the axle, in order to determine which replacement leaf springs you'll need for your 2017 Keystone Bullet Premier Ultra Lite Travel Trailer you will need to measure your current springs from the centers of one spring eye to the other. This distance is going to determine which springs will fit as a replacement. Since we know you have a 3500-lb axle, we can narrow it down a bit.

If your old springs measure roughly 23-1/8" long from eye center to eye center you can use # e59SR . If your have 25-1/8" long springs you'll need part # e54SR and if you have 27" long springs you can use # SP-210275 .

These are going to be rough measurements, since springs will flatten out a bit when they wear down, so you'll want to pick the one from the above choices that is slightly shorter than what your measurement is. I've attached one of our help articles on trailer leaf springs that shows how to measure for replacement springs that you can refer back to during this process.

Unfortunately we don't have any double-eye leaf springs with that length (and at the needed capacity). You might try to reach out to Dexter directly to see if they know where to source an exact replacement. Once found, it's probably a good idea to also replace the corresponding stack at the other end of the axle - but you shouldn't need to replace all four unless they're showing visible signs of wear.
