Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the HitchMate line of cargo stabilizer bars. If you have pickup truck, a common problem that we run into is that a lot of our cargo seems to slide around whenever we're driving around, especially with the drop in bed liners, it makes it a lot easier for all that cargo to slide around. So let's take a quick ride and see how our cargo does.So we got our HitchMate in place to make sure our cargo isn't going to slide around. One of the first things you might notice is it is rather a beefy, big bar. Now it is going to stay in place pretty well, and even keep some of those heavier objects from sliding around.Our HitchMate cargo bar has a full steel construction, so even if we do have a little bit of moving in our cargo we're not going to have to worry about any kind of cracking or any damage to our bar or our cargo. Now one thing you're really going to appreciate is that there's not any way to accidentally release this.
You can even pull up on the lever and it's not going to release. We're going to have to come to this release knob here, push it in, and then lift the lever to release it. If we have it properly secured down, it's going to stay locked in position and hold everything securely.The feet on our hitch bar are going to be steel, it's going to have a rubber coating around it. We're not going to have to worry about scratching our bed side, and it is going to grip nicely, even on those plastic bed liners like we have here.The teeth along the top of the bar here are going to allow us to make different adjustments to accommodate different sized truck beds. The one we have here is going to be for full sized truck beds.
It's going to collapse all the way down to 59" and extend all the way out to 73". There's also one available for compact trucks that's going to collapse down to 50" and extend all the way to 65".To install out HitchMate cargo bar, the first thing we're going to want to do is unlatch it. We come to this silver tab, we're going to push down and that'll release the locking mechanism. We're going to lift up that handle so that it's all the way released. We're going to loosely put our bar in place, now you don't want to get it too tight to start with.
You want to have a little bit of give because when we rotate that handle down it is going to provide a little bit of tension to keep everything in place. Then that latch is going to keep it nice and secure and make sure our cargo doesn't slide forward or backward making sure it doesn't move around in our bed. With our cargo bar in place we'll take our truck for another drive.HitchMate also offers a support bar that is going to work with our cargo bar to keep our cargo from shifting side to side. Now you can either pick this up separately or as a kit with your cargo bar. Now the way it's going to work is we're just going to push all of our cargo to one side, making sure it's nice and secure.
And then on our support bar, we're going to have these wing nuts that will loosen up and then we're simply just going to put it over the bar and tighten it up by hand. You just want to make sure that it's nice and snug up against your cargo so it can't shift over any more.And we'll be able to put this anywhere along the bar so long as we're not coming into contact with the teeth. A lot of times we're not able to put our cargo in a way that our support bar wouldn't be in this area. So a quick tip is you can actually just turn it upside down that way the teeth are still free and our bar can still be attached to our cargo bar, keeping everything nice and secure.Our support bar is going to be from the end to the end where it attaches to our cargo bar, is going to be 14" long and the opening on our support bar is going to be 1 3/4" long by about 4" wide. So with our cargo secure, let's go ahead and take another drive and see it how it handles.Another way we can use our cargo bar is put it towards the back of our tailgate. That way it will keep our cargo secure but a lot easier to access. Like if we're going to the grocery store we can keep all of our groceries back here, nice and secure, but very easy to unload.That will finish up your look at the HitchMate line of cargo stabilizer bars.

This cargo bar is heavy duty, and works very works as advertised. The perpendicular StabiLoad bar is great for those smaller loads, even if it takes a little bit to position. However, the weight of this bar makes positioning a little difficult, even with two hands, and the gear teeth on the clamping mechanism are fairly aggressive, so it takes a bit to set the length just right. Would still recommend it, if you are a spirited driver like me, and need your load to stay in place.

So I got a new truck a week ago. It came equipped with a bed cover which my old truck didn’t have. I was super excited to be able to load my groceries in back when it was raining. Everything was going great until I got home and my 12 packs of pop had slide to the cab. I had to figure out how to undo the cover for the first time to retrieve my beloved pop. That’s when the search began for a contraption that would keep my groceries near the tailgate regardless of how many times I braked before I got home. I settled on the cargo bar with an extra Stabiload divider bar. I received the package today, faster than anticipated. Installed in a few minutes, which was just me deciding where to put it. It’s seems sturdy and I’m hopeful it keeps my groceries within reach and separated so the bread doesn’t get squished.

It works great to keep my groceries at the end of the truck bed. I have it mounted most times as I don’t hail around much heavy cargo. The Tacoma I have doesn’t have a perfect mounting location in my opinion so I have to get it just right on the edge of the side compartment as to not push on that compartment. I can get the bar mounted very securely. I never worry about it falling down. I am annoyed by it rattling around when I don’t have it mounted up. That’s on my for not putting it back up when I need to take it down for one reason or another. It does it’s job perfectly. I’m still a very satisfied customer and consider this a great purchase.

What can I say, this thing is built like a Sherman tank! It is quite heavy; in other words, it's all there. The cam lock is very strong. We'll worth the money. I always keep a tool box and a cooler on board at all times. These two iteams have not shifted an inch. VERY well built; bomb proof. Would highly recommend.

I am using two of these (one low; one high) to protect the front wall of the bed in a restored 1950 Ford F3 pickup. It keeps things from banging on the paint and gives me tie downs without going over the bed sides. Clunky to make fit alone but two can do it easily. Quite heavily made and strong. Overexercised, can push out wall on single bed wall trucks.

I bought the two items for my 2020 Toyota Tacoma truck bed. The items arrived on time and were extremely well packaged. The bars were made of solid quality. I did not have any problem in putting them together and got them easily installed. I was going to use the cargo stabilizer bars to stabilize a 5' tree houseplant that I purchased for transport. I end up putting the tree inside my truck without any problem. I did use the bars to hold a big pot for the tree. I'm very happy with the bars and quite sure they will serve many purposes to stabilize big items in the back of my truck in the future instead of using clumpsy ropes for tie-down.

I received the products earlier than what they have promised. They came in a nice pack condition and as soon as I unpacked it I went and dry fit it. The cargo stabilizer and stabiload support I was able to try it that day and it works the way it should have. I don’t have to pick scattered stuff anymore on my truck bed and that make my day easier. And to the hitch ball I haven’t try it yet the good thing I notice is that on my truck it doesn’t have that much wiggle. This is good when you're towing heavy stuff.

Well designed, Well used, Well loved. Seriously, I use this cargo stabilizer bar w/ it’s little perpendicular sliding stabilizer regularly to keep order in the bed. This combo does a fine job doing what it’s supposed to, working well over both the flat and the ripples of the liner. I don’t have a load to show right now, but here’s a pic showing it across the back of the bed. Wouldn’t be without the pair. Just great!

I recently bought a Ram Dodge and was needing something to holds things in the bed from rolling around. I came across the HitchMate Cargo Bar while web surfing for something. Havent had to use it a lot, but still works the same as new. Still takes a couple shots to get the position right, but just works.
