On trailer brake magnets like what's on the brake assembly # 23-106 the magnets are not polarity sensitive which means either wire can be used as the power or ground as long as the other is the opposite. This is why the wires of the assemblies are typically the same color like on the # 23-106 they are both white.

Trailer brake magnets actually are not polarity sensitive. That means either wire lead can be the positive as long as the other wire is grounded.
