Recommended Kayak Carriers for Two 85 Pound Kayaks

Will this carrier hold two 85 lbs tandem kayaks? I see the 130 lbs max, is this per boat?

I do have a great option for you, however the Thule Compass Kayak carrier # TH890000 won't be able to support your two kayaks that weigh 85 pounds each. The 130 pound capacity you see is for the total weight of both kayaks (75 pounds each).
We do not have a similar 2 kayak carrier available that has this kind of capacity so your best option will be to go with separate carriers, one on each side of the vehicle's roof. This is going to make for easier loading anyway since you won't have to lift one of the kayaks over the vertical bar on a dual carrier and further across the roof.
For this I highly recommend going with 2 of the etrailer.com J-Style Kayak Carrier # e98878. These feature a robust 150 pound weight capacity and all the needed tie-down straps are already included. I have attached a short video demonstration that you can check out as well.
