How Many Bolts Go Between the Rail and Bracket on the Curt 5th Wheel Kit for a 2003 F-250/F-350

Question:

Hi, I am ready to purchase the curt 16120 hitch kit with c16443-204 install kit. I noticed the drawing of the frame brackets each have three holes that connect the bed rails. In the video it shows each bracket has 4 holes which bolt to the bed rails. Seems that 4 is better than 3. how many bolt holes are actually on the brackets with this kit. Thanks,

The Curt Custom 5th Wheel Install Kit part # C16443-204 which is a fit for your 2003 Ford F-250/F-350 will use three bolts to secure the base rail to the frame bracket and one bolt to secure the base rail to the bed floor on each side. Therefore, you will only be using three bolts per side that go between the base rail and frame bracket but there are a total of four bolts per side securing the base rail. The 5th wheel install kits will all use four bolts per side to secure the base rail but the number of bolts that go between the base rail and frame bracket can vary. That said, you should not have any issues with strength. If you prefer to have four bolts per side between the base rail and frame bracket you can use the Reese Custom Install Kit part # RP56005-53 which is also a fit for your 2003 Ford F-250/F-350 and will work with the Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # C16120.

I have attached a photo to explain the Curt Custom 5th Wheel Install Kit.
