Distance From Shank To Top Of Box On GearDeck 17
Question:
Were having a Fiamma Bike Carrier installed on the back of our PW Plateau TS built on 2019 MB Sprinter chassis. Also want a cargo box and very much like the design of the GearDeck 17 because of its unique slide-back feature. I understand that the rear barn doors will clear when opened the full way. But wonder if the Fiamma Bike Carrier rails can be lowered with the Cargo Box installed. I know this is doable with the Stowaway Max but I prefer the GearDeck 17 because of sliding capability and lighter weight. Thanks, in advance, for any help you can give me. Also please correct me if any of my findings are wrong.

The GearDeck 17 Enclosed Cargo Carrier part # H00604 measures about 33" from the top of the shank to the top of the carrier. I don't have any specific compatibility info with your Fiamma Bike Carrier but all you need to do is measure from the top inside edge of your receiver tube on the trailer hitch to the bottom of the tray for the bike rack while folded down. If you have at least 33" then the GearDeck 17 Enclosed Cargo Carrier will work for you.
The Yakima Swinging Enclosed Cargo Carrier part # Y62VR is much shorter so this may work for you if the above will not and it has a swing arm, so you won't have any issues with the doors opening.
