Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller Has Out of Control Power Settings
Question:
Primus IQ. Reading nc when trailer is disconnected. Reading c when trailer is connected. So..when trying to adjust power output i apply manual switch to set it at 6 per the directions. Turning the blue wheel it reads 00 at lowest setting and the slightest turn and it goes straight to14. Cannot get anything in between.

Your Tekonsha Primus IQ # TK90160 is giving the correct readings when the trailer is connected and disconnected so if the slightest turn of the manual override is making the brake controller's power jump to it's highest setting with nothing in between, the controller is faulty and will need to be replaced. If you let me know the year, make and model of your vehicle, and if it has a factory tow package with a factory 7-way or not I would be more than happy to recommend a better option for you.
