Will the Rear Doors Open on a 2003 Ford E250 Using the Thule T2 Pro XTR Platform Bike Carrier
Question:
Can you tell me if this carrier can be instaled on an E250 van allowing the rear doors to open fully either with or without the tilt? Thanks

Expert Reply:
We have not had a chance to install the Thule T2 Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack, # TH69TX, on a 2003 Ford E250 so I cannot say for sure if it will allow your rear doors to open all the way. We have tested the Swagman XTC4, # S64665 on a 2012 Ford E-350. I have attached a video for you to check out that may help you understand the available clearance.
You will most likely will not have access to the rear of your vehicle when the bike rack is loaded with bikes, but you may have clearance when the rack is empty.
For a better option, we have is a swing-away bike rack like the Thule Apex 4 Bike Rack, # TH9027XT. This style of bike rack will swing to the side out of the way of your rear doors. I have attached a video for you to check out for this rack.
