Recommendation For Hitch on a 2012 Toyota Camry

Question:

Toyota do not recommend a hitch of any description for their 2012 Camry. But you offer one. Do you know why Toyota dont recommend a hitch?

Normally on the Toyota Camry the owners manual will say that Toyota does not recommend towing a trailer with the vehicle. Also, on some they will also specify not to use a hitch and a hitch mounted accessory. Since some vehicles can still use a hitch with a hitch accessory is why the hitch manufacturers still will offer a hitch for the 2012 Toyota Camry.

The hitches available for the 2012 Toyota Camry are all Class II hitches with a 300-lb tongue weight capacity. I am including a link to the hitches that are available for your 2012 Toyota Camry.

The Curt Hitch, part # C12107 is what I recommend using. If you are just going to use the hitch for a bike rack, I would recommend the Draw-Tite Hitch, part # 36540. The Draw-Tite hitch is the same hitch as the Hidden Hitch, but costs less because it does not include the ball mount. I am including a link to the installation instructions on the Draw-Tite hitch.
