How To Replace a Trailer Clearance Light With One Wire Using a Light With Two Wires

Trailer has 1 black the replacement light has red and black wire. Correct connection please

If you are replacing a trailer marker/clearance light that only has one wire with a trailer marker/clearance light that has two wires like the part # MCL44AB that means the previous light grounded though the mounting hardware and the new light grounds with a single ground wire. Therefore, the ground wire will just need to be run and attached to the trailer frame. That said, I don't know which color has which function on your light so you will just need to test these for yourself if the light did not come with installation instructions. The black wire on the trailer would be for the running light circuit in this case most likely.
