Why Can't Connections of Trailer Wiring for 2014 Dodge Durango be Reversed
Question:
I am likely going to purchase this unit soon so I watched the video and noted that it seems the power for this unit comes off the box installed behind the drivers tail light. From other comments, it appears the power wire is then a little short/tight to run up to the batter on the passenger side. Is it possible to install the converter box behind the passenger tail light? Essentially mirror image the install? What would the difference be in connections?

The reason you have to install the connectors of the # 118617 on the correct side is that if you flip flopped them or mirrored the install the trailer wiring blinkers would flash opposite. So you'd turn on the left blinker and the right one would come on and vice versa.
We were able to install this without extending the wiring on a 2014 Dodge Durango just like yours. Check out the install video link I attached to this page to see the entire process walked through.
