How to Determine Correct Replacement Axle

Question:

My Axle has the number 1657213 on a tag attached to it. is it the same as your Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with Standard Spindles - 89 inch Long - 3,500 lbs # T3584F-8974? I need to replace one of mine that is bent. Thank you in advance!

In order to choose the correct replacement axle for your trailer you will need to know the dimensions of your current axle's hub face to hub face and spring center to spring center as in the diagram I have added; the other thing you need to know is the weight capacity of the axle you need, which should match or exceed the GVWR of your trailer.

For example the Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with Standard Spindles # T3584F-8974 you referenced has a 3,500 lb capacity and measures 89 inches from hub face to hub face and 74 inches from spring center to spring center. If this matches your axle dimensionally this is the correct replacement for you.

I have also added a link to a video review and install for you to check out.
