The first thing you are going to want to do is consult the vehicle owners manual to determine if you can tow with your 2004 Nissan 350Z. On some vehicles, when there is a trailer hitch that will fit, it may only be used for an accessory like a bike rack. The owners manual will be able to tell you if you can tow or not and what the capacities of the vehicle are if you can tow.
The Curt trailer hitch, # 11483, will only fit the coupe models, not the Roadster convertible models. It has a capacity of 150 pounds tongue weight and 1,500 pounds gross trailer weight. The gross trailer weight is the total weight of the trailer and everything loaded in it. One room of furniture could easily top 1,500 pounds alone.
The hitch comes with the correct ball mount, pin, and clip. For a ball, use # 19256 for 1-7/8 inch diameter, or # 19258 for a 2 inch diameter. For trailer wiring, use # 119178KIT. I have included a link to the installation instructions for the hitch and wiring for you.
