Threaded Hitch Pin Be Used for Towing

Question:

I am looking for a hitch-pin lock, strong enough to replace a regular hitch pin for typical towing duty ie: pulling a boat or toad? Id like to use it as an anti rattle device.

We have two different anti-rattle devices that would work very well for you.

If the ball mount you're using is hollow, the Let's Go Aero locking anti-rattle hitch pin, part # 63232 would work great. The square block and spring would insert into the end of the hollow shank of the ball mount with the spring and the hole in the block lining up with the hitch pin hole. When the ball mount is installed into the hitch receiver, run the hitch pin through the receiver and tighten it down. This draws the square block up against the side of the shank, effectively bolting the shank to the side of the receiver keeping it motionless. Once the lock is installed, the pin cannot be removed without removing the lock.

A second option is the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch, part # RM-061. The Quiet Hitch bolts around the junction of the ball mount and the receiver tube, locking the two together.

Both of these options are top sellers that are very well rated by our customers. If you click the provided links, you can see product description videos featuring the two anti-rattle devices I mentioned.
