Upgraded Valve Stem for 16 inch Trailer Wheel to Handle 110 PSI
Question:
I have a 2013 Forest River Sierra fifth wheeler camper. I need help with a tire issue. Currently have Goodyear 235/80/R16 e rated tires on the unit. We keep having trouble with the unit having flats and blow outs. Want to upgrade to a Goodyear 614/235/85/r16 G rated tire. One tire has 80 lbs of pressure, the g-rated tires are 110 lbs rated pressure. Does anyone know if we would have to upgrade the rims too on the unit or just upgrade the valve stems to steel? It seems to us the flats and blow outs occur when we are making a longer journey with the unit. However it could just be coincidence. Thanks in advance for any assistance with this issue.

The wheels that you have can easily handle the 110 psi requirement of the tires you mentioned. You will need to upgrade the valve stems like you mentioned though with part # AM20906 (made of chrome-plated brass) and you'd be set.
