Does the Oil Seal On a Dexter 10K Hub Need To Be Replaced After Removing
Question:
I replaced a leaking hub oil seal 2 weeks ago.Now i realise i should have replaced the brake shoes too because they were oil soaked too.Now i want to replace the brakes.Do i have to replace the oil seal again even if its not leaking?

I think you are asking if the oil seal must be replaced each time the drum is removed and if that is the case then no, the oil seal if in good condition can be reused. For replacement braking assemblies you can use the Dexter Electric Brake Kit part # 23-450-451 which are self-adjusting. If you just want to replace just the lining that is an option as well using part # BP04-255 and part # BP04-245.
