Can the Truck Bed Cargo Camera for a 2015 Chevy Silverado Be Wired To The Truck Bed Light Switch
Question:
Upon further investigation, my 2015 Silverado 2500 doesn’t have any unused toggle levers however I am wondering if the toggle for the cargo bed light, which used the 3rd brake light, can be used for this camera’s switch? This would keep from drilling a hole in the dash for the supplied switch. Would the light for the cargo bed light interfere with the camera visibility?

Yes, you can use the toggle switch for your truck bed cargo light with the Truck Bed Cargo Camera for 8" Factory Monitor part # 3460010. The power lead that goes to the light would then need to be rerouted to the camera. The Truck Bed Cargo Camera will work with pretty much any toggle switch as these are generic in design. The amperage rating of the circuit will come into play but this won't be an issue for this camera as it is very low.
If you need further help with installation then it might just be best to have the camera professionally installed as the installer would be able to wire the camera how you like, using an existing switch or the one included in a location you are comfortable with.
