How To Measure For Hatch Clearance Without The Roof Rack Installed On 2019 Volkswagen Atlas

looking at TH7503-TH7503 for my 2019 vw atlas with raised rails. how can i figure out if the thule force xt will work without hitting the hatch without the roof rack installed

The Thule AeroBlade Edge Roof Rack part # TH7503-TH7503 will work well on the raised rails of your 2019 Volkswagen Atlas. The low profile design and aerodynamic sleek bars will also look nice. In order to figure out if the cargo boxes will give you enough hatch clearance you will need to do a little measuring. It easier to figure out hatch clearance once the roof rack is already installed but since you do not have a roof rack yet you will need to measure a little differently then the standard procedure.
Since you have raised rails the TH7503-TH7503 front bar can be placed anywhere on the raised rail that you need it to be placed. The Thule Force XT Rooftop Cargo Box part # TH6359B requires at least 54-3/4" of clearance. If you measure from the hatch opening in the back up the raised rail 54-3/4" and have at least a couple of inches of rail left you can use the TH6359B without hatch interference.
If you measure and you have more than 51-1/8" of clearance you can use Thule Force XT Rooftop Cargo Box - 18 cu ft - Black AeroSkin part # TH6358B without hatch interference.
