Which Load Range Tires for Light Duty Utility Trailer w/ 1450 lb GVWR
Question:
I have a small light duty trailer with a gvwr and gawr of 1450lbs. The tires are 4.80-12. Does the range of B or C make a difference for this trailer since it has such a low capacity?

Expert Reply:
Since the Load Range B rating of 1570 per axle and the Load Range C rating of 1980 lbs per axle are both above the GVWR of the trailer in question, no it doesn't really matter. However if it were me personally, I'd go with the Load Range C # AM30660 over the # AM30580 load range B. A little overkill never hurt anything, especially if the trailer should ever get accidentally overloaded.
