Can the LoadLifter 5000 Be Upgraded to the LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate On a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500

Question:

Hi, I am a Low Volume Vehicle Certifier in New Zealandand I am trying to certify a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 which has has a air bag assist system fitted to thye rear axle in place of the bump stops. In NZ, if the OEM bump stop is removed, it must be replace with an item that will also work as a bumpstop. The air bags that are fitted, have 5813, but looking at your web site, some have internal bump stops and the basic one does not appear to have. How can I tell the difference. Or, we need word from you to state that, this airbag can replace a bump stop even though it does not have an internal one fitted and will act as a bump stop. We would also need to know the compressed height of the airbag without air in it. Can you help please. Thankyou,

The Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs part # AL57230 are what is currently installed on the 2003 Dodge Ram 1500. These airbags do not have the internal jounce bumper like the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs part # AL88230 do but you can swap out the airbags and all you would need is the Replacement Air Spring for Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate System part # AL84235.

The compressed height of Replacement Air Spring for Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate System is 2.7" but you will come into contact with the jounce bumper at about 3.5"
