Low Profile Roof Mount Cargo Basket for a 2011 Ford Escape 2011 with Factory Roof Rack
Question:
Ive got a 2011 Escape with the OEM roof rack and want to add a basket. Can you recommend a basket or a mounting solution that would be as low profile as possible? Im wondering if theres an aftermarket low-profile support that could be put in the existing railing track or whether theres a basket that would fit nicely between the existing rails. Ive looked at both the Rola and the Yakima baskets but think theyd look knd of awkward on top of the factory crossbars. Thanks for your help.

If you are looking for a low profile roof mount basket for your 2011 Ford Escape then the Thule Canyon basket # TH859XT, is the best way to go. I think the basket design compliments the 2011 nicely. You can get a better look at this carrier by viewing the video I have linked. As long as your Escape has the adjustable crossbars, or has a crossbar spread between 20 inches and 37 inches, then this will work for you.
Also take a look at the Thule Pulse Alpine # TH613. It is an enclosed carrier with a thin sleep look. It's requirements are Maximum crossbar dimensions: 3-5/16" wide x 1-1/2" tall and Crossbar spread: 23-5/8" - 35-3/4.
