Grounding Trailer Lights That are Mounted to Wood Rather than Metal  

Question:

Im building a camper..Im curious as to how to ground the stop,turn and running lights...Im mounting the lights onto a wood sheathing with no metal nearby to ground the lights...can you help me? thanks

If the lights you are using have wires coming out of the back like the Optronics Camping Travel Trailer Stop, Turn, Tail and Back-Up Light, part # RVST56, then you can simply connect an extension wire like part # DW02359-1 from the ground wire on the light to the trailer frame and ground the white wire from your trailer connector to the trailer tongue.

If the lights you are using ground through the mounting hardware, then you can simply run a jumper wire from the post on the light that carries the ground circuit to a good, clean area on the trailer frame using ring terminal like part # DW05705-1.
