Are Red and White Wires Correct for Tekonsha Trailer Wiring Circuit Tester
Question:
When I received my Tekonsha wiring tester It said to charger before using. S I plugged it to charge it and left it alone. Later I found the other paper in the bottom of the box instructing to connect the black and red wires to the battery first before charging. So I opened it, and there was only a red and white wire. do they substitute a white wire for the black at times. At the same time there is a heavy black wire going to the plug receptacle in the front of unit. It seems like it should be obvious, but then I dont want to burn anything. So should I assume the white wire for the black. Do you have any pictures or diagram showing the correct wiring schematic? Thanks

It was a good idea to ask but you assumed correctly that the white wire has replaced the black with the Tekonsha Trailer Wiring Circuit Tester # 8010. The red wire will be attached to the positive terminal and the white wire will be attached to the negative terminal, as you can see in the accompanying photo. This is the closest we have to a diagram though, as one is not provided by the manufacturer. I do believe this is what you were looking for though so I believe it is going to help.
