7-Way Connector for Curt Echo Brake Controller on 2018 Mazda CX9
Question:
My vehicle is 2018 Mazda CX-9 with the factory installed hitch and the flat 4 pin connector. To use a mobile brake controller with my vehicle, do I have to change my 4 pin to 7 pin round connector? If so, which item would you recommend, and can you give me the installation instruction for that as well? Thank you.

In order to use the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 on your 2018 Mazda CX-9 you do need a 7-way, which you can add with the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation # ETBC7L. This kit comes with the 7-way, wiring and other hardware needed so you can add the RF brake controller to your CX-9 that already has a 4-way.
I have added a link to a video install of the installation kit for you, as well a a couple of help articles on brake controller installation which will help guide you through the process so I highly recommend reading them.
