Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch and Air Bags for a 2018 Ford F-250 FX4
Question:
I have a 2018 Ford f250 super duty fx4 with 6 3/4 bed rated at 15k towing. I want to set it up for a 5th wheel to tow a camper. I have not decided on a camper yet but plan to live in it full time. What is a good setup? I also want airbags because the bed sits way high. What all do I need?

For your 2018 Ford F-250 FX4, I highly recommend the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # DM8550022 with the Demco Hijacker Premier Series Under-Bed Base Rails and Custom Installation Kit part # DM8551009. The auto slide feature means that you will not have to enter and exit your truck each time you need to make a sharp turn because the hitch will automatically slide back for you to prevent any cab to loft contact. This will be a very worthwhile feature for a full-timer that is always on the go. The other great feature about what makes the Demco Hijacker a good option is the wraparound jaw system which allows for reduced chucking and the security bar for extra peace of mind. The hitch head height is also adjustable so you can make sure you are towing level.
For a set of airbags, I recommend the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs part # AL57399 which is a bolt-on fit that will work well with the above kit. Although not a requirement, an air compressor kit will be a great idea as it allows for pressure adjustments on the fly. I recommend the Air Lift WirelessAIR Compressor System part # AL74000 for this because it is wireless so you don't have to run any wires or airlines into the cab.
