Do I Have To Reseal My Roof When Using the MaxxAir In Place Of a Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent

Question:

MaxxAir Mini Deluxe Trailer Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan - Powered - 1 Speed - Black Item # MA00-03851 I have a MAXXAIR Deluxe Roof vent in rear of Sprinter. I have a Fantastic fan in the front. I think AirExcel website says fits over most 14x14 roof vents I want to replace the Fantastic fan with the MaxAir Mini Deluxe. Will it fit on EXISTING fantastic fan housing? Or do i have to take the old unit completely out, install new and waterproofing? thanks

Expert Reply:

The MaxxAir Mini Deluxe Trailer Roof Vent part # MA00-03851 will fit the same size opening as the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent that you have now but you will need to use the included garnish that is supplied with the unit that way everything lines up properly. Therefore, you will need to do a bit of weatherproofing but this is really easy and all you will need is some silicone sealant like part # 0160297.
