The Curt Ram rail kit adapter you'd need for your 2017 Ram 3500 short bed would be the part # C16022 which I attached a picture and install video of.

I see what you mean now. So the slider bases are the only ones that can fit in the # C16022 which means the correct adapter you'd need is the # RP30154.

Yes, the Reese rail adapter part # RP30154 does provide a set of rails that the Curt Q24 hitch you have is designed to fit. The Reese adapter provides a set of "industry standard" fifth wheel rails which is what Curt and most hitch manufacturers out there are designed to fit. Thankfully they all decided to make their hitches and rail kits to the same dimensions!

I recommend using a Lube Plate #16721 over covering the Demco Recon 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch #DM8550043 in Grease #L74FR. The lube plate is much cleaner and you will not have to constantly clean off the dirt and apply new grease over time.
