The Tekonsha P3, # 90195, is a great brake controller. It is a proportional controller which means it applies the brakes as hard or as light as the motor home is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on the trailer and vehicle. I have linked a video review of this controller for you.
From my research I have found the Coachmen Cross Country is on a Freight liner XC-Series Or SL Series so you would need this adapter. Installation for the trailer brake controller is simple if the vehicle has the factory pre-wired 7-way tow package. The square connector point for the controller will be under the dash next to the steering column. You will use wiring adapter part # 3027-P to connect the controller to the vehicle's connection port.
