Question:

Why is it not recommended for a 5th wheel? Ours has a 2 inch receiver hitch.

At the rear of a trailer or RV the ride quality is very rough when compared to the ride quality at the rear of a passenger vehicle. Reason being the suspension isn't as sophisticated and there is a longer distance between the rear axle and the rear of the trailer which exaggerates the movement of the trailer when hitting bumps. Because of that only a few bike racks were designed to be reinforced enough for that type of use.

The part # TH9058 is not reinforced enough to be used at the back of a 5th wheel, but you could look at a similar rack, the Swagman Trailhead RV Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 2" Hitches # S63381, which was designed to be used at the rear of a 5th wheel trailer so it would be exactly what you'd want.
