Solution for Needing Replacement Motor for Lippert Powered A-Frame Jack 1817941

Question:

My Lippert jack quit working and Ive troubleshot the issue. There is power to the jack head and the Extend/Retract switch is good. I fear the motor is bad. Is there a replacement for just the motor or is a complete replacement needed? Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks,

I do have an solution for you, however there is not a replacement motor available for your Lippert model 1817941 Electric A-Frame Trailer Jack.

I recommend simply replacing the jack itself with the Lippert Electric Trailer Jack # LC285318, which is what replaced your existing model. This electric jack features a lift capacity of 3,500 pounds, 2 toggle switches for operation, and a heavy-gauge steel construction that ensures durability and strength. Part of the reason your jack model was replaced with this one was to take care of some of the issues the motor and switches were having.

I think the best value for an A-frame tongue jack is the Stromberg Carlson # SC63VR which is rated for 4500 pounds of tongue weight. This is 1000 pounds more than other models, and even though you may not need this much capacity, you will find that the jack motor runs quick and effortlessly. This will add years to its life. This jack also has a unique clutch that prevents damage from overextending or retracting the jack foot - the most common reason for jack failure. I also like that is has a generous 23" lift, including a time-saving drop-foot. It includes LED lights for operating the hitch in the dark, and a built-in bullseye leveling bubble.
