Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2016 Ram 3500 Instead of Fifth Wheel Adapter
Question:
Hi there. I have a 16 ram 3500 with the factory tow prep and was wanting to purchase the CAB-C56 adapter for my 25 foot fifth wheel. I’m not planning to use rails, just the in ball at the center of the box. Do you still not recommend this adapter using the in ball ? And what is the reason if it’s not recommended? Thanks.

Convert a Ball does not recommend the use of their # CAB-C5G with the pop in style of balls like what the Ram rail kits use so we cannot recommend this for you. The reason is the latch of the pop in balls is on top of the hitch ball which will get damaged with the Convert a Ball we've found.
Since you plan to tow a fifth wheel trailer with a 2016 Ram 3500 that has the factory rail kit you'll want a hitch that is designed to fit the factory rail kit like part # BWRVK3670 for if you have a short bed and need a slider hitch or if you have a long bed the fixed hitch version part # BWRVK3600.
