I can help you get the parts you need to flat tow the 2007 Chevy HHR with the Roadmaster Sterling All Terrain tow bar part # RM-576.

I recommend the Roadmaster Base Plate kit part # 3141-1 to fit the Sterling Tow Bar.

For the wiring I recommend Hopkins part # HM56100. It wires the towed vehicle to accept the RV's tail, brake and turn signals when flat towing without splicing into your vehicle's wiring. According to Roadmaster there are fuses that need to be pulled in the HHR when you flat tow it, I recommend Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass part # RM76511 so you do not have to pull the fuse each time, you can just flip a switch to bypass the fuse. You do want to check your owner's manual for information on which fuses need to be pulled.

Almost all states require a supplemental braking system so that the towed vehicle stops when the RV stops. I recommend Stay-IN-Play DUO part # SM99251 because it is the most convenient braking setup once you have it installed. The RV sends a signal to the main unit under the dash which activates a small cylinder near the brake pedal that presses the brake pedal to stop the HHR with the RV. The great part about the Stay-IN-Play is it doesn't have to be removed every time you want to drive the vehicle like with some of the other temporary braking system installs. You also don't have a bulky box in the floorboard of your vehicle to activate the brakes.

The last thing to consider is a high low adapter so that you tow the vehicle level behind the RV. You want to measure from the top of the hitch receiver on the motor home to the ground. Then measure from the center of where the base plate will install on the Chevy to the ground. The difference between those two measurements is the amount of rise or drop you may need. I have attached the selection of high low adapters we have available.
