Do I Need a Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch for a 2019 Ford F-350 Short Bed

Generally speaking, a short bed like what you have on your 2019 Ford F-350 will require you to use a sliding 5th wheel hitch in order to make a sharp turn unless you have some sort of rotating pin box on your trailer which is rare. Otherwise, you would likely run the loft of the trailer into the cab of the vehicle causing several thousands in damage. That said, the Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # RP30921 won't be a good choice for you.
Instead, I recommend the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch part # DM8550038 which will eliminate the headache of having to exit the vehicle to engage the slider each time you need to make a sharp turn because the hitch will automatically slide back for you. This system like the above also fits right into the pucks so there is no need for any adapters. The Hijacker actually has one of the most secure set of locking jaws on the market as the wrap-around style when combined with the solid steel locking bar makes for an extremely smooth and secure ride.
