Parts Needed to Install an Impulse Trailer Brake Controller on a 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500
Question:
I have a impulse controller I took off my 2004 GMC tk that I want to put on a 2001 3/4 chev tk with tow package is there a deference what do I need to do Thx for the help

In order to install your Impulse brake controller on the 2001 Chevy, you will need to use the wiring harness # HM47795 that you have referenced. You will need to make sure that you place the red wire in the correct location. I have included a link to the installation details and a link to a drawing that shows where the red wire goes.
If the truck did not come with a 7-Way wiring harness, you will need to add one using # PK11898 or, if there is a round plug with a cap above the spare tire, # 30955.
You may also need to make some connections under the hood of the truck in order to make everything functional. I have included a link to an FAQ article that will help you.
