How To Provide Additional Turning Clearance While Using a 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter

Question:

I have a flatbed hay bale unroller bed and it has the 2 5/16inch ball welded insinde of a box compartment with a lid in the center of the bed, What can I do to make my gooseneck camper set back more for tight turning on this shortbed truck. It is actually a 5th wheel camper with an extension already sticking out the front of it which I installed my RBW gooseneck adapter to the kingpin on the extension. I don.t want to permanately affix anything to my bed as I need that room on the top of the bed for hauling large round bales of hay. Can you come up with a solution to this problem maybe their is already something on the market for such a situation and I am just overlooking it. THANKS!!!

I do have an option for you but towing a 5th wheel trailer with a short bed truck using any sort of 5th wheel to gooseneck adapter is generally not a good idea because as you have come to find out they just don't provide the needed clearance. If you were going to be able to make this work then your only option would be with an offset 5th wheel to gooseneck adapter.

The most offset option we offer is 8" with the Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter part # AM3139. If the additional 8" of clearance is not enough for you or you are already using an offset 5th wheel to gooseneck adapter then I see no other option but to reinstall the hitch ball further back.
