Is Curt Spectrum Trailer Brake Controller a Good Option for 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500
Question:
I have a 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500. I was looking at the Curt SPECTRUM TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER #51170. Do you recommend another. I was putting the control knob where the factory controller would have been.

The Curt Spectrum Trailer Brake Controller # C51170 is a great choice for a brake controller in your 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 because it is easy to use with the control knob you referenced and is a proportional controller so you will get smooth braking. To install it in your '18 Silverado you would also need the Curt Custom Wiring Adapter # C51451.
The only other brake controller I recommend checking out is the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 because this is even easier to use. All you have to do is plug it into your 7-way and there is no other wiring needed; you just need a smartphone to download the app and set up the controller and you're done. This would be more convenient than having to find a place to mount the knob of the Spectrum in your truck.
The Echo is also a proportional controller so you will have immediate, smooth braking like you would with the Spectrum.
I have added links to video reviews of both the Curt Spectrum # C51170 and Curt Echo # C51180 for you to take a look at.
