Can I use Autowbrake With Integrated Factory Brake Controller
Question:
Please explain this answer about the brake controllers use with an existing in vehicle controller.. I copy pasted the comment.. If you installed the Autowbrake Electric Brake Controller # 3430001 on a trailer it would not allow the vehicles brake controller to activate the brakes since that circuit would not run to the tow vehicle at all anymore and would only run to the # 3430001. I am guessing that when the installation is made that you disconnect the blue wire in the connection box on the trailer that comes in from the trailer plug.. Please correct me if I am wrong.. I have a three axle equipment trailer and am unhappy with the controller in my truck as I need to manually apply more braking force at times when loaded to the capacity of the trailer..

The answer that you read on a previous question means the Autowbrake part # 3430001 will override the vehicle's integrated brake controller because the blue wire from the trailer connector (that activates the electric brakes) is now wired to the Autowbrake.
There is not a need to cut or disconnect the wiring for your factory brake controller. The Autowbrake works for up to 3 axles on the trailer. I have attached an wiring diagram for your reference.
