Is There a Reason Demco 50-Degree A-Frame Coupler # DM15349-52 is Silver

Question:

Why is the powder coated silver? Seems to me most trailer types that this would go on would be black. Are they sold in black also?

Silver is just the color that Demco likes for their couplers which is why the Demco 50-Degree A-Frame Coupler # DM15349-52 is that color. The two most popular colors are black and silver like this. Demco does offer a red primer version of some couplers like # 12660-97SP.

Interested in the Demco 50-Degree A-Frame Trailer Coupler w/ Jack Hole - eZ-Latch - Primed - 2-5/16 Ball - 21KSome reviews make mention of this latch being not as rigid due to this hard plastic handle material. Is this Demco Trailer Coupler latch sold with a metal latch?Thank you

I do understand the hesitance with using and trusting the plastic latch on the Demco # 12660-97SP. One thing I will say though is that the latch is incredibly sturdy - it's made up of a nylon composite that more closely resembles a hardened rubber. A lot of the customer feedback regarding this doesn't resolve around specific issues, but more around a fear that issues will come up. I can assure you that Demco designed the latch to hold up just as well (if not better since it's corrosion resistant) as a metal alternative. If it's something you're really worried about Demco does have the eZ Latch # DM15337-97, which is slightly different in design but does feature a metal latch.
