Will Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 4 Bike Platform Rack Fit on 2015 Honda Odyssey

Question:

Hello! We have a 2015 Honda Odyssey and are about to buy a Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2inch - 75270 Looking to haul a 29er MTB, another MTB womens, and two kids 24inch MTBs. I really like that the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 4 Bike Platform Rack - 2inch Hitches - Frame Mountinch has full locks but it looks like eTrailer doesnt list it as recommended for a 2015 Odyssey. Will this rack work, especially considering a MTB with wider handle bars that will be closest to the van? Anything else we should be aware of? Thanks in advance!

The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE, part # HR1400Z, fits on your 2015 Honda Odyssey once you install the 2 inch trailer hitch. With that being said it may not be the best choice because when we tested it there wasn't room to open rear hatch because of the bike's handle bars. Even with the rack tilted. If you're not worried about this then the Sport Rider SE is a great choice for you.

If that is important to you then I recommend the Saris Freedom, part # SA4414B. I've linked a video when we tested it and the rear hatch cleared the bike. I've attached a picture a customer sent in showing different mountain bikes installed (Although I don't recommend installing them this way. You want the heaviest bike closest to the vehicle.) It'll also hold all of your different sized bikes. The catch is it doesn't include locks but they can be added using part # SA3022 for the rack to the hitch and part # SA981 for the bikes.

In addition to the rack, you said you're looking at Draw-Tite hitch # 75270. It is a 2 inch hitch so it'll work with either the Hollywood Racks or Saris bike racks. I've linked an install video on an Odyssey for you to take a look at. You might also take a look at Draw-Tite # 76025. It's another 2 inch hitch that fits your van except it has a hidden cross tube. The installation is more involved but only thing you see under the van's rear bumper is the receiver tube and safety chain loops. I linked a video showing this install as well. I've also attached a picture that compares the two hitches so you can see the difference.
