Will the CIPA Custom Towing Mirrors CM11400 Fit a 2016 Ram 1500 SLT
Question:
I recently purchased these mirrors. For some reason, I seemed to recall seeing that these dont fit the SLT model. I didnt realize the truck I was ordering them for was an SLT until after I placed the order. I figured Id give them a try before initiating a return. I watched the installation video and saw that theyre installed on a 2016 Ram 1500, but didnt know if that truck is an SLT model. I put them on the truck today and they seem to fit. They dont seem like theyll slide off the factory mirrors once theyre locked in place, but theres a lot of up and down wiggle room. Should these be a snug fit? I didnt put the rubber piece on the wedge first because I wasnt sure if they were going to fit and didnt want to mess anything up in case I needed to return them. If the rubber makes a big difference in how snug they lock in and will result in them fitting without a lot of wiggle, Ill gladly keep them and put the rubber piece on the wedges. I thought Id check before initiating an exchange. Thanks!

In order for the CIPA Custom Towing Mirrors part # CM11400 to obtain a snug fit you will need to install the rubber strips that were included with the kit. This should then take most of the play out but you can use the dial to snug them up even further. In regards to compatible, I do not see anything that excludes the SLT trim package and I have even seen we had a few customers use these on their Ram with the SLT trim package.
If you need help installing the rubber strips I have attached a video of this for you. This also shows how much play is normal after they are installed.
