Light Bar For Enclosed Trailer To Work Outside of Trailer At Night
Question:
Maybe you can suggest a product offering for my application. I have a 6 x 12 enclosed trailer I use to haul large RC aircraft. Im looking to add an LED light bar that can be turned on with a simple switch so I can see to clean up the airplanes after dark. I want a lot of light. I would like to add a 12 volt DC battery inside the trailer that could be powered through a convertor with 120v AC input. I would also like the trailer battery to be charging while the converter is plugged into the AC source. I was thinking about your 300 watt light bar for your Ford 450 as the light bar. Can you recommend a bill of material to accomplish this? Light spread needs to extend 25 to 30 feet behind the trailer. I would like a combination spot and flood. I will be purchasing a 55 amp converter.

The MaxxTow Off-Road Light Bar part # MT80636 can be used in your enclosed trailer if you wire the light bar to a 12V battery. It is typically used as an off-road light bar but works for your application. It is a combination flood beam and spot beam for seeing at a distance. I have attached a photo of our installers testing the light in the parking lot.
I recommend Go Power Smart Battery Converter Charger part # 34266169. The Go Power Converter is a 55 Amp Converter. When choosing a converter you want the output amperage of the converter to be at least 30% of the amp hour capacity of your battery. As long as 55 amps is 30% of your batteries capacity this converter works fine to charge the battery while plugged into the AC source.
