Troubleshooting 7-Way on 2002 Dodge Ram 2500
Question:
2002 dodge 2500 rv plug wiring my dodge pickup rv plug shows only a rt signal current but the 4 wire flat plug shows all circuits working where do I look to solve this. this is a factory installed tow package.. I have already installed a factory replacement 7 way plug which is a plug in to socket replacement no change in results.

To find the issue will require you to do a number of troubleshooting steps, and the easiest to start with is taking a look at your owner's manual to locate any trailer fuses or relays and ensure they are all there and in working order. If they are, use a circuit tester and check the wiring going into your 7-way to see if they are carrying the correct signals.
You may have a short and that would mean you would have to trace your wiring and check it thoroughly to ensure there are none that are crimped, broken or otherwise damaged. It may end up being that your factory plug is somehow damaged near the end and you would have to end up hardwiring # 37185 to get a 7-way.
