I spoke with my contact at Curt and she stated that the adjustable tow bar 19745 has brackets on it that are universal. In other words, he could not say if it was a fit with Roadmaster base plates. Also, Roadmaster does not list an adapter for the Curt tow bar. Based on this information I cannot say whether or not the Curt tow bar is compatible with Roadmaster base plates.

What I recommend is to stay with a Roadmaster tow bar or at least a tow bar that Roadmaster does make an adapter for. For your 2000 Chevy Tracker, you can use base plates # 1012-1. For a tow bar, if you want to stick with Roadmaster the most popular option is the Falcon 2, # RM-520.

Or, you can go with an adapter, # RM-025, Quick Disconnects, # RM-201, and a Tow Ready tow bar, # 63180. Please note the max speed when using this tow bar is 45 miles per hour. I have included links to some installation details for the tow bars and a video review of the Falcon 2.

You will also need safety cables, # RM-643. These cables are coiled which will help to keep them off of the ground.

For a lighting solution, there are several possible options. I have included a link to an FAQ article that covers the various options so you can choose what will work best for you.

Most states now require supplemental braking on the vehicle that is being towed. The easiest system to set up and use is the Even Brake, # RM-9400. This is a proportional system that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. Proportional systems are the safest way to stop and reduce wear and tear on both vehicles.

Be sure to consult the vehicle owners manual to determine the proper way to tow the vehicle. I have included a link to our series of FAQ articles on flat towing for you.
