Suspension Enhancement Compatible With B&W Gooseneck on 1999 Dodge Ram 3500 Two-Wheel Drive
Question:
I have the Firestone 2071 installed on my 99 Dodge 3500, QC, 2WD Cummins truck with long bed. I now have a B and W GNRK 1394 Hidden Gooseneck Hitch I want to install. Can I move the Upper Bracket of the 2071 1/4 out so the side rails of the 1394 will behind the upper brackets of the 2071? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I checked with Firestone and the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2071 are not compatible with the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNRK1394 on your 1999 Dodge Ram 3500; I then checked to see if any Air Lift springs were compatible and found that none of those air bags are either.
The issue is the brackets will interfere with the hitch, as you noted, and moving them is not something you will be able to do as they will be positioned incorrectly, will likely not work and will void the warranty.
For suspension enhancement you can use with your gooseneck I recommend the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TDR3500B because it will provide your '99 Dodge Ram 3500 the support it needs and will not interfere with the installation of the B&W Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNRK1394.
I have added a link to a video review of the Timbrens for you to take a look at.
