Base Plates That fit 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee High Altitude with Collision Avoidance

Question:

I just got some bad news! After checking with RV places and Jeep dealership and spending $65k I purchased a 2019 Grand Cherokee High Altitude. When I went have a tow system installed on my Jeep and RV I was told there are no base plates made for my vehicle because it has the collision avoidance system. Please help!

I reached out to Roadmaster for the definitive word and they told me that you could use their baseplates on your 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee High Altitude with the collision avoidance system. The only thing that won't work is if you have a brush guard on your '19 Grand Cherokee, but otherwise you are good to go!

There are a number of parts needed in order to flat tow your 2019 Grand Cherokee, which I'll list for you:

- Base Plate Kit: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-521440-5
- Tow Bar: Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-676
- Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267
- Supplemental Braking System: SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251 OR if your motorhome has air brakes: SMI Air Force One Supplemental Braking System for Motor Homes with Air Brakes # SM99243

Base plates are vehicle-specific and the Roadmaster EZ-5 will work and give your new Grand Cherokee a clean look. The Nighthawk tow bar is a great option because it has long arms which make it easier to maneuver when towing, along with integrated safety cables and integrated LED lights to help you connect or disconnect after the sun goes down.

The Flexo-Coil wiring kit is designed to prevent any type of electrical feedback to keep your Jeep's electrical system safe, and the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO as well as the SMI Air Force One supplemental braking systems not only give you effective braking, but are also a one-time install which will never require any type of removal or reactivation.

You may also need a high-low adapter in order to keep your Wrangler level, and I've added a link to a help article which shows you how to determine if you need an adapter as well as a link to our selection of adapters.

Additionally, I have added links to instruction manuals, video reviews and installations for you to take a look at.
