Can Standard Hubs Fit as Replacement to EZ Lube Hubs
Question:
I just replaced ez lube hubs on a boat trailer with standard hubs. The trailer has ez lube spindles. Can I use the ez lube spindle on this hub by just taking the dust cap off or is the hub not designed to be able to use the ez lube spindle with? The brand of hub I installed is carry-on. Thanks.

Standard hubs can easily replace EZ lube hubs. From a hub point of view the only difference is the center plug on the dust cap being present on the EZ lube style hubs and not being there on the standard hubs. The standard dust cover that came with your hub most likely would work fine too. Most are deep enough for the added length of the zerk fitting on the spindle. If yours fits currently with the standard cap you are totally fine.
