Recommendation to Reduce Aluminum Ball Mount Wear Due to Steel Hitch Receiver

Question:

I have seen a number of complaints stemming from aluminum tow hitches gouged by a steel receiver. Obviously the steel is harder than the aluminum. Is there any sort of plastic sheath available to take up the space between the aluminum hitch stem and the steel receiver. Seems like a pretty easy thing to come up with. Thanks

The Draw-Tite QSP Trailer Hitch Silencer and Cover for 2" Hitch Receivers # 63080 is the closest thing we have found to what you are seeking. This plastic part does serve as an anti-rattle and will reduce that wear from the softer metal. There isn't a plastic sleeve reducer for the inside of the receiver as that would break down and eventually either change towing capacity or create rattle.
