Question:
In addition to the red indicator light staying on all the time when I’m just driving the tow car the brake lights are on all the time?

I spoke to my contact at Demco about the issue you are having with the SMI Air Force One Supplemental Braking System part # SM99243. They informed that if both the monitor light and toad's brake lights are on while driving without the motorhome's brakes depressed then the cylinder is most likely engaged just enough for you not to notice that the brakes are being applied but enough for the system to detect it. The cause for this is due to not having the proper slack on the cable in between the firewall and cylinder. If your vehicle has adjustable pedals then that could very well be why you are experiencing this issue because they may not have been closest to the driver’s seat when the cable was installed.
In order to fix the above issues you are going to need to readjust the cable in between the firewall and cylinder which can be done by reviewing the attached three pages from the installation manual.
