Where To Place the Leaf Spring Hangers On a Tandem Axle Trailer

Question:

I have two 6000 pound axles for a trailer we are building.... we have the rough placement front to rear for load carrying. What we dont know is how to space the hanger brackets etc.

The leaf spring hanger positions are largely dependent on which equalizers and leaf springs you will be using. For example, if you were to use the Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for Double-Eye Springs part # APT3 with the 5-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 6,000-lb Trailer Axles part # e34SR. The front and rear leaf spring hanger would need to be placed 29-1/2" in front and behind the center leaf spring hanger. The center leaf spring hanger would then need to be placed in between the two axles. I recommend you verify the axle placement using the photo below.

If you purchase any of the trailer hanger kits from us like the above, the recommended leaf spring and hanger spacing will be listed.
