Spring Hanger Spacing for the Hanger Kit # APS1 with PR4B Springs
Question:
I purchased the APS1 hanger kit and the e54SR springs. In your chart the set I purchased is the same spacing as the example. In your QandA section you said with the e54SR springs and the APS3 hangers the spacing for the hangers would be 25 3/4inch and the shackle to the rear of the trailer. but with a 25 1/8inch spring the spring end of the shackle would be to the front of the trailer not to the rear as showed in your picture. Are these figures correct I have not seen any trailers where the spring end of the shackle is leaning to the front of the trailer, Should the hanger spacing be 24 3/4? Thanks

Expert Reply:
The recommended distance between the hangers of the # APS1 would be 24-7/8 inches when using the leaf spring # e54SR. When the trailer is set on the ground and the leaf spring is supporting the weight of the trailer the spring will flatten out and get longer so that the shackle will face the correct way.
